PRAYING FOR MY BELOVED CRC MEMBERS & CALVIN COLLEGE et al to NOT ACQUIESCE TO FAR-LEFT LIBERALISM TO TRY TO BE ‘COOL’:

JESUS SAID: “I pray not that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

DOES CRC mean 'CANADIAN REVOLUTION CHURCH" ?

WHEN I ATTENDED CALVIN COLLEGE (the mother college for the CRC, which is actually the CHristian REformed CHurch) there were LOTS of CANADIANS...sometimes they could be "colorful" , even brash, sometimes supercillious, thinking they were better than us average Americans. Yet many of them went on to Calvin Seminary and became CRC pastors and stayed in America. That is  ONE way you can stay as a foreigner in the USA, and get cheaper gas, cheaper cigarettes, and lots of other cheaper things. I always wondered if some of the Canadians were more interested in becoming American than they were in becoming pastors. By becoming pastors they didn't truly become Americans but they did manage to live their lives in America. SOme of them married American women ...not sure if that made them American or dual citizens or what. Furthermore, I always sensed that some of these Canadian pastors in the USA had an agenda that was beyond "mere Christianity". YOU simply cannot help but carry with you some of your cultural values from wherever you come and often impose them on others. And I wonder what effect this has long-term on the church, and in west MIchigan where many of these Canadian-born pastors stay and influence the people for a long time. That's why I sometimes semi-jokingly (but also in a concerned way)call the CRC the "CANADIAN REVOLUTION CHURCH"
